Home Care Aides (HCAs) need 5 hours of initial training and 5 hours of annual training on the specific topics offered by CareAcademy. You must have completed high school or passed an accredited high school equivalency test (such as the GED). In fact, many of our adult caregivers appreciate the flexibility of care shifts because they adapt to the schedule when they are ready to attend an institute, university, or professional school. Angel Caregiver Academy is a training school approved by the New Jersey Board of Nurses and Home Health Aides (CHHA).Licensing requires completing the school's curriculum and successfully completing the CHHA licensing exam.
Candidates to become a CHHA license must complete 60 hours of online instruction combined with 16 hours of in-person clinical training. Angel Caregiver Academy CHHA candidates must accept a 4-week school schedule that includes 15 hours of online material per week (a total of 60 hours). In addition, completing 16 hours of mandatory clinical skills training requires candidates to attend four weekly in-person sessions at the offices of Angel Caregiver Academy. In-person instruction includes a review of the previous week's online material, along with 4 hours of hands-on training in clinical skills.
Upon completing the combined curriculum (online and in-person), candidates sit for the New Jersey CHHA licensing exam. The tests are carried out at the Angel Caregiver Academy offices.
