How much does a family member get paid to care for a family member?

A member of the caregiver support team where the Veteran is receiving care or plans to receive care will contact the Veteran and any caregiver to discuss this request and eligibility. If your loved one qualifies, they can appoint a primary family caregiver and up to two secondary family caregivers. We help America's 63 million family caregivers with support, training and payment to provide high-quality home care. Family caregivers of veterans who are not eligible to participate in this program may still be able to obtain support and resources through the General Caregiver Support Services Program (PGCSS).

It can help family caregivers to feel recognized and valued, and not to take themselves for granted as many unpaid family caregivers do.
