The purpose of this grant is to support and encourage the provision of services to other family caregivers at no cost to the families involved. Some government programs pay family members or friends of people with disabilities to help them with daily activities. This may include personal care, administering medications, cooking, and cleaning. If your loved one is a veteran, you may be eligible to receive payment through VA care programs, such as Aid & Attendance or the Comprehensive Assistance Program for Family Caregivers (PCAFC).
These include temporary care, caregiver training, support groups, and access to resources designed to help caregivers manage their responsibilities and maintain their well-being. The Arkansas Medicaid exemption, which is offered through the ARChoices in Homecare program and other exemptions from home and community services (HCBS), is one of the main ways that family caregivers can receive payment for providing care in the household.
